Cool Cities

Since the start of the industrial revolution, there were some problems associated with economic development like Rises in population, increase energy consumption, traffic delay and the emission of carbon dioxide. However, if we don’t solve these problems we will need another earth to replace our own. We suppose to decrease the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by one half to live within the capacity of a single earth. In Japan during the last 30 years GDP has gone up 100% while energy efficiency has increased 37% and oil consumption has decreased 8%. Ninety percent of carbon dioxide emitted into the air comes from the buildings and transportations. Cool City is a city which can reduce carbon dioxide emission by 60% as well as provide with enjoyable life style. SDCJ is building the Cool City and they are from Japan. There are three types of transportations which will be used in Cool City for example hybrid, water taxi and monorail. The various zones in the city are business cultural greens. Water, trees and roof membranes will be used as techniques to reduce the heat. Fifty percent and thirty percent are the expected CO2 reductions for the two types of buildings. The overall percentage is 60% of reduction of CO2 emission claimed in the video.
